La Vigne
We returned from Les Pommiers in early August 2023. What can I say? To be honest I don’t want to praise it too highly as then it won’t be our secret paradise!!!
We had a wonderful time. Liz and Keith are fantastic hosts and really cannot do enough to help. My husband is in a wheelchair and Liz very kindly phoned a local restaurant to check it was wheelchair accessible and then booked it for us. She supplied us with fresh poached pears from her trees which were delicious our 14 year old grandson loved them!
The indoor pool was fantastic and enjoyed by all. There are games in the house, swings for younger guests, a badminton/ volley ball net and a table tennis table. The house, La Vigne, was just perfect for us and the wetroom was better than our one at home! Liz also arranged a rental hoist for us which was a great help.
One thing that really impressed me was the equipment in the gite, there was more than enough for the 8 of us. The area is so pretty with the beaches only 40 mins away.
Very highly recommended and it really is perfect for wheelchair users.

La Grange
Just returned from a wonderful two weeks at La Grange. The gite is really well equipped and comfortable. Liz and Keith are lovely hosts and their story of Les Pommiers is fascinating. The pool was amazing and the story of how it was installed was incredible! We have never had such a relaxing holiday. There were plenty of places to visit in the area or just spend time in the garden watching the insects and birds. The little owl was especially lovely to see. It was simply perfect!
La Grange
This was our first post-Covid holiday so hopes and expectations were very high. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed almost two weeks in La Grange and could not have been happier. The gite was spotlessly clean on our arrival and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The indoor pool was very much appreciated in the hot weather. The area is quiet and peaceful and the countryside around is lovely. For shopping, St Jean D'Angely is not far away and we enjoyed several trips to the boulangerie in Landes which is even closer. Ligueueil is well situated for trips to the Ile d'Oleron, Rochefort and Fouras-les-Bains, Royan and La Rochelle. We even made it as far as St Emilion. Liz and Keith are experienced hosts and it shows in their attention to detail. They made us so welcome and could not have been kinder when I had a minor injury during the trip, ensuring that the holiday stayed on course. We ended our stay there feeling that we had had a proper break and hope very much to return before long. Thank you both!

What a fantastic location so very peaceful, the gite was lovely and the swimming pool a hit with all the family. Liz and Kieth were fantastic hosts always on hand for advice and a lovely chat. Lots to explore in the area for all the family to enjoy. A shame we have to go home tomorrow.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour aux pommiers, dans le gite La Grange. Il est très confortable et il a toutes les commodités qu'il faut (lave linge, lave vaisselle etc.) Liz et Keith nous ont gentiment accueilli, ont donné de bons conseils pour visiter les alentours. Notre fille Automne et nous même avons beaucoup apprécié la piscine qui est très agréable, la température de l'eau était parfaite. Le site est un havre de paix, calme et reposant. This was one of my first holidays as a solo parent and I could not have been happier with the outcome! Mathilda (aged 3) was thrilled with the pool, the swings, slide and sandpit and it I loved seeing her running around enjoying the garden and the outside space. We also enjoyed picking the blackberries and plums with Liz and eating the homemade plum jam. Liz and Keith did everything to make us feel at home and gave a warm welcome to our visitors. With Les Pommiers as a base, we did daytrips to the zoo at Chizé and the beach at St George-de-Didonne and for the rest of the time we simply enjoyed being in the beautiful setting of the gîte. Highly recommended for families of all sizes - we hope to come again! Emily and Mathilda
Just spend a fantastic week in La Vigne and didn't want to leave. Such a peaceful setting. The pool was a great hit with us all and a bonus being indoors, no sunburn for the children and on cooler days it was nice and warm. Playground was a hit with the children too. We loved sitting outside int he evenings watching the bats and little owls flying around. Liz and Keith were perfect hosts, always available when needed with helpful advice and information. Will be back.
Enjoyed a wonderful week in La Grange and La Vigne for my Nan's 80th. Excellent facilities, kids especially enjoyed the pool and play area. Great weather, almost too hot for walking around the towns and markets, wonderful holiday thank you.
Lovely accommodation. Perfect for walking, running and cycling. Easy access to Rochefort, La Rochelle and Cognac etc. Loved seeing the Owls and Hoopoe bird. Pool made a difference during hot weather. Will be back! Merci!

St Savinien is a lovely little place where you can hire electric boats, canoes etc with a lovely picnic area & childrens area. Palmyre Zoo at Royan is a must & a visit to the beach at St Palais sur mer is a buzzing little town. Our visit has been very pleasurable & would recommend to others.
Great holiday - kids loved pool, lovely hot weather, great french food, super days out at Zoo, Ile d'oleron beaches, Rochefort and Royan. Thanks Liz.
This visit was our third year running. Firstly thank you to Liz and Keith for the clean accommodation. La Grange is such a wonderful gite, with the offering of a lovely indoor pool. sometimes we do the same things year in/out, like going to feed the donkey in Lussand on our bicycles, through the peaceful farm tracks. The donkey then stamps its feet as we leave! We've discovered that the local farmer in Ligueuil will sell us unpasturised milk (still warm) from his cows. The children collect it themselves and love seeing the calves. The church on the way to Courant reminds us of simplicity in life that we sometimes miss.
St Jean d'Angely, Surgeres, Cognac, Saintes, Aulnay are lovely towns to visit. Kayaking in Coulon, school museum in Tout-y-faut, chateau in Dampierre-s-Boutonne are fond memories! Thank you again to Liz and Keith xxxx
Our sixth year at Les Pommiers and it gets better every year. Host Liz and Keith are unobtrusive but helpful when needed. Such an ideal location for many interesting tourist areas. We will no doubt be making further visits.
Just the place to come for quiet, comfortable relaxation. Beds make for great sleeps - hardly french!
We enjoyed cycling on the quiet roads through the feilds - thanks to Liz and Keith for a great setup + pool!!
An excellent two week stay - our 4th here and 2nd in La Grange - Very Peaceful and idyllic.

We have stayed in many, but this gite proved to be perfection! We have a big electric wheelchair and a mobile hoist, and for the first time (away from home) we found the space to manoueve and transfer. The adaptions proved to be well thought out and effective. Thank you Liz and Keith.
